I don’t have any ideas for what the easter egg might be that has’t already been mentioned, but on the topic of “The Sheriff”: The first time I heard the album, I thought that this was one of the weaker tracks (along with “Seduction” and “Dream a Dream”)… but now I think it may be one of my favorites, right up with “Opening”, “Han-Mi’s Plot”, and “Miss Helen”. It seriously seems like a song that you could turn into another entire album with the amount of story it has, both what’s present and what could be expanded upon, and in that form the emotional impact from the deaths of both the werewolf (Caroline?) and Hank’s father would be multiplied a thousandfold, with more backstory and actually having the werewolf with a singing role.
It just really struck me because, while your backstory songs are always great, this is the first one which really made me go… “This could be made into Slenderman-length musical all on its own.” Or a short novel, or something. Just… really fantastic storytelling job.
As for the easter egg… mayhaps we could get a hint? Maybe, are we looking for something in the lyrics or the music?

I guess one potential “logical leap” would be her recognizing it as being specifically the Barnsdale gang from such a distance, but that doesn’t seem very “easter egg”-y to me. I’m really bad at this kind of stuff.

From some of the descriptions, I assumed that she was in a hybrid form most of the time they knew each other. But that’s just speculation on my part.
