Immanentizing The Eschaton: The Illuminatus Podcast With Kevin Hulburt And Paul Shapera

Immanentizing The Eschaton Cover

For something up a different avenue, i have another podcast i do with my buddy Kevin Hulburt. It has nothing whatsoever to do with New Albion, but it has everything to do with conspiracy theory, western magick, drugs, weirdness, sexual and gender politics, Kabbalah, Freemasonry, Theosophy and numerous other topics.

The Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea is a mind**** of a book. It  is, according to Wikipedia, “a satirical, postmodern, science fiction-influenced adventure story; a drug-, sex-, and magic-laden trek through a number of conspiracy theories, both historical and imaginary, related to the authors’ version of the Illuminati. The narrative often switches between third- and first-person perspectives in a nonlinear narrative. It is thematically dense, covering topics like counterculture, numerology, and Discordianism.”

This book was incredibly influential for both of us when we first read it as young pups. Now, years later, we’re going through it and unpacking it all bit by bit.  If two guys having a conversation on these topics sounds like it might be fun, then give it a whirl. We’ve just started, and now, after the 3rd episode, as we’re getting our groove on, i’m finally announcing it.
