The New Albion Trilogy by Paul Shapera

The 6 CD set of the entire New Albion Trilogy is now out! You can buy it!

Don’t worry about any messages saying it’s on back order. New CDs are literally arriving at CD Baby every day. (They keep very little in their warehouse. I have new stock set up to be shipped to them each day as long as orders come in.) Think of the thrill of having physical CDs in your little hands.

Since i couldn’t include all sorts of bonus goodies (folks, getting this stuff printed was hell) i will instead do what i always do, give you all the bonus stuff you could ever want right here on the blog.

So, here’s today’s bonus crap:

As many of you know, Act 3 of the Steampunk Opera was originally a bit different. Byron was very different, the Voodoopunks didn’t exist, they were a group called the Mannequins, there was no Amelia, and there was no Elysium Night, it was actually Lost Night’s Lullabye sung by Jasper. Here now for your interest are the original demos of the 3rd act. (i don’t include Bonfire Of The Dolls because it didn’t change).

You’ll wonder what’s different about the first track, New Camden 3 (other than the name. Yes, New Albion was originally called New Camden). Just wait til closer to the end of the track. It gets different.

So, to all those who have bought the 6 CD Set, here is my show of love to you. And to all you who haven’t, i STILL FRIGGIN LOVE YOU, so here’s the same crap. But really you should buy the 6 CD Set if you want to just so i don’t go broke. But even broke i would still love you and still make music for you even as i die of dysentery.

Wow, I have to say, hearing Lost Night’s Lullaby sung by Jasper instead of Rachael was not expected. I’m glad it was a song you were eventually able to incorporate into the trilogy.

Any chance of maybe getting these and the other demos and instrumental versions you have on Soundcloud released on Bandcamp? I’d be happy to pay a few dollars to be able to download them with better quality than what SoundCloud compresses them to. They’d be easier to listen to (stream on Bandcamp, or download to add to my actual music collection and audio player) *and* then they’d have better audio quality.

Also, got my boxset in the mail yesterday. So cool! Thank you. You make really amazing music, and I hope that you can continue to do so for as long as you desire to continue. And for that time I shall continue to recommend your work to… well… most everybody I can. 🙂 The Fallen, The New Albion Trilogy, the Fairy Tale albums, and all the rest should be *far* more well-known than they seem to be.

Hi! So, um… I really enjoy these, but I can’t understand them at all, and I can’t find the lyrics anywhere. Do you think you could post them? Also the lyrics for the fairytale album? Thanks!

The lyrics are here under Librettos:

Lyrics to Fairy Tales fir the Lost and Wandering were never typed out so you’re out of luck there, BUT there are lyrics to Fairy Tales for Homeless Faeries. It’s here just click on each song to see the lyrics.

Thank you, but I was actually talking about the third act on this page. You see, I have cochlear implants and so, I can’t really understand electronically transmitted sound without the lyrics. I really love your music, but I can’t really listen to it without lyrics, so maybe you could post them if you get the chance? Thank you!

Thanks again, but I was actually speaking of the alternate 3rd act of The Dolls of New Albion, which is on this page. As I said, since I have cochlear implants, I have no idea what the music is saying without lyrics. Also, I tried to listen to Fairy Tales for the Lost and Wandering some time back, and the music seemed really good, but seeing as how I couldn’t understand it without lyrics, I gave up a little bit in. I really enjoy your albums, so do you think you could post the lyrics when you have the time? Many thanks!
