A Pirate’s Tale Cast Album Is Out Now

10 Jun

For only $10 own the album and help fund the production, opening tomorrow night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This was just plain FUN to make. I mean come on, a pirate show. Who doesn’t want to sing jaunty, theatrical pirate songs?

The album is absolutely brilliant, having been listening to it all day. So many awesome songs in it. Work Song (which gives me definite Les Misérables vibes), The Seduction of Interrogation, Hey Diddle Diddle, and so on and so on. Absolutely brilliant. Better yet, it came completely out of the blue, making the wait for the Atompunk Opera ever so slightly more bearable as I now have another musical to listen to meanwhile. Excellent album on all accounts, I can’t stress it enough.

I do have a question though: is it possible to get the libretto and script for the musical itself somewhere at some point (after the shows, perhaps)? I for one would love to get the bigger picture of the story. I realize your role in the production is only for the music, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

Ah bless you for saying that.

Because of the enormous deadline on this i didn’t print up a libretto, although it’s not difficult to do. However i can’t possibly get to it for a bit, but i will try to remember. I didn’t consider is as important this time since it’s not some complicated story album like the normal fare. Alas, the script is out of the question. The playwright is a vastly better swordsman than myself.

Perfectly understandable, and thank you for the reply.

I have been looking for a musical like this for my high school theater department to perform. Is it available for other theaters?

That would be awesome! What would be the cost? Is the music available too? I so wish I could’ve seen this but I live in Minnesota. 🙂

Is any written music available or just the show recording? Or accompaniment track? Again – very willing to pay. My high schools kids will love this!

There are accompaniment tracks. Work was progressing on a written score but it got waylaid by some untimely circumstances.

Accompaniment tracks work – most of my kids can’t really read music and I teach them by rote.
