A 4 Song Sneak Peak Of The Atompunk Opera

17 Feb

Her are 4 songs from the upcoming Atompunk Opera. It is as of yet unnamed, although you can be assured New Albion will be somewhere in the title.

3 of the songs are from the 2nd Act and because the 2nd Act has a particular flavor not found in the other Acts (to that degree) i am including a track from Act 1 as balance, lest you think the Atompunk Opera all sounds a certain way (and you hate that way and never want to go near it and don’t buy it and i cry until i finally starve to death).

I am not posting these because i think they are the best songs in the opera. The 3 from Act 2 have all been written in the past week and are being posted because they showcase where i am right at this moment. Who knows, maybe i’ll end up hating them or decide they just don’t work and replace them.

The first song is from Act 1.

The following 3 songs are in order from Act 2.

No, i will not tell you what’s going on. Spoilers and that.

Last things: remember, this is music made to have vocals on top off. There are parts that are very awkward without vocals there.

Act 1

A1 S3 Behind The Gates

Act 2

A2 S2 Kyrie

A2 S3 Russell

A2 S4 The Lovers

15 seconds into the first song, and I’m already in love with it❤

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much they sound brilliant! The first one reminded me of the first two musicals and then the Kyrie was really cheery and now I really want to know what’s going on during that (don’t worry, I know you said you’re not doing spoilers) because the traditional kyrie words aren’t very cheery and then Russell was so emotional even without words and lovers sound so happy and now I’m worried it’s going to end badly for them and I was humming and guessing tunes for all of them and I’m so excited and ok I’ll shut up now. But thank you! You’re amazing! I can’t wait for more to appear!

Is the Behind the Gates based on The Operation from the Dieselpunk Radio Hour?

Really cool sound. Plastic synths are great.
I’m having fun trying to guess how the vocal melodies are gonna go based on the progressions and counterpoint.

It’s possible for you to upload on SoundCloud all the instrumental version of the Steampunk and Dieselpunk Opera?

Paul, you genius. You have got to upload the instrumental versions of this and the previous ones. Do it on bandcamp just so I can buy them all over again and sing along to your limitless talent!
