World’s Coolest Clocks

24 Jul

You want to see some big, cool clocks from around the world? Of course you do. But first:

Ladies and Gentlemen, Tickets to the very first London Fringe theater performance of The Dolls of New Albion, A Steampunk Opera ARE ON SALE.

They are on sale Here at the Ovalhouse. If you live in England and want to see our very first steps as we begin our journey  buy ’em and come see the show’s first official incarnation. I’ll do a full post on this soon, but let me officially declare that tickets as of today are available.

To celebrate, look! Clocks!

Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. I had a great day here several years ago.

Prague Astronomical Clock. I lived in Prague for a year awhile ago and this clock is the centerpiece of one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe.

The Sumrat Yantra in Jaipur, India. It’s the world’s biggest sundial.

The Mecca clock in Saudi Arabia.

The Yokohoma Ferris Wheel Clock in Yokohoma, Japan

The Obraztsov Puppet Clock:

The… zebra-thing..clock….. in the Hague.

Awesome clock in Batumi, Georgia

Atkinson Clock Tower. Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

Horoscope clock in the Kazan Railway Terminal in Moscow

Yes, another Moscow clock, because face it, this picture is just utterly awesome.

Central University of Venezuela Clock Tower

Casa de Panadería clock and barometer, Major Square, Madrid,

Dubai Clock Tower

Fraser’s Hill, Malasia

Lier, Belgium

Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India

Really? Do you REALLY need me to tell you?

Marrakech Train Station

The tower of Graz, Austria

I am literally forcing my self to stop. I could keep this post going ALL day.

WAIT. ONE MORE.

Zytglogge, Bern

Okay, Okay. NOW i’m done. Seriously, the world is just a wonderful place and one thing the human race is really good at is building AWEsome clocks and clock towers.

WAIT! I know, i’m so sorry, but come on… THIS. This is so iconic, i HAVE to end with it:

Toronto!

Thanks you. I’m done. Goodbye. Come see the show.

Yes, you can use my photo of the flower clock at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. All my stuff is Creative Commons. You are supposed to credit me though. Or at least link back to my flickr page: http://goo.gl/jPIa3K

Some of the other pics are not working, btw. Cool page though. I love clocks, too!
